What are the program requirements?

  • Primarily over age 55

  • Continent of bowel and bladder (must be independent in the bathroom, no hands-on assist)

  • Able to feed self (food may be cut by staff)

  • Mobile with assistive devices (walker, cane, or wheelchair if able to self-propel; but no hands-on assist)

  • Free of communicable disease (a physician’s report including a current Mantoux TB test must be on file at the Center prior to client’s first day of attendance).

  • Exhibits behavior compatible with group activities and is able to benefit from attending the program.

How do I get started?

To get started at Elderday, individuals must go through our intake process.

In this process our qualified team will administer an intake assessment and review the medical history form provided by your physician.

After this is completed and the individual is found to be appropriate for our programs, they may start attending.

What is the cost?

The cost for attendance at Elderday Center is $13.50 an hour.

There is also a fee for the intake assessment (see above) which is $135.00.

If the person becomes a client at Elderday (within three months of their assessment), the $135.00 assessment fee is applied towards their first 10 hours here.

What kind of programs do you offer?

Here at Elderday Center we provide a variety of programs to address the many interests of our clients.

Our programing includes licensed music therapy, licensed pet therapy, exercise class, reminiscence groups, arts and crafts, games, intergenerational and community programming and outings.

We focus our programs on providing quality of life along with cognitive and physical longevity for all our clients.  

Who provides transportation?

All transportation is provided by either the caregiver or an outside service contracted by the caregiver.

We have a list of reliable transportation services that our clients have been happy with in the past which we would be happy to provide you with.

On days where there is an outing, we will provide all necessary transportation to and from the outing.

Are meals provided during the day?

Throughout the day we provide two snacks, one at 10:15 and one at 2:15, and one catered hot lunch at 12:00.

All food is included in the cost of attendance. Any arrangements for special diets can always be coordinated with our Hospitality Manager ahead of time.
